Cruise - Europe Summer 2022

 Cruise, Europe Summer 2022 (Back-to-Back)

Dates: May 25 - June 20

Ship: Carnival Pride

We spent almost a month traveling around Europe this summer. 21 nights of that was spent on the Carnival Pride pictured above. In total, we saw six different countries at 17 different port of calls.

Cruise #1:

Dates: 5/29 - 6/10

Pictured below is a map of the route that we took on our first cruise. Within this cruise we hit the countries of Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium and the UK throughout 11 different port of calls and 12 nights.

Below are the locations we went along with links to each port of call post:

Day 2: Day at Sea
Day 10: Day at Sea
Day 13: Dover, U.K.

Cruise #2:

Dates: 6/10 - 6/19

On this cruise we met up with my friend Trent and his classmate Tyler along with Kaylee's parents. This cruise was for 9 nights and had 6 port of calls. All port of calls were located in Norway outside of our embarking and disembarking ports. Below is a map of the route that we took.

Day 1: Dover, U.K.
Day 2: Day at Sea
Day 9: Day at Sea
Day 10: Dover, U.K.

As you can see, there are a few days at sea that I did not cover in a post. Although they were limited, we still kept ourselves busy during the sea days! Below, you will find a montage of some of the things that we did and had available to us on the ship!

Food was by far one of the major benefits of a cruise. Most of our meals were eaten on the ship so that we could get the most bang for our buck! Sea days always had a brunch service that was our favorite for the sole reason that they served banana cream pie. Coconut cream pie was my favorite treat and Kaylee loved the cappuccino pie! The all you can eat/order ideology was dangerous for me!

Formal nights happened twice each cruise and were usually on the sea days.

Although it was a bit chilly for the pool, we did use the hot tub once and also tried out both slides. The retractable roof did end up closing in our third port of Norway.

Towel animals are always a hit on the cruises, but deciding what they are became a fun little game. A major debate was wether the towel animal below was an anteater or an elephant. Let's see if you can guess what it is!

*We were told it was a ram as distinguished by the curly horns...

We loved the art stuff on board! The employees there were awesome (shoutout Reece, Byron, Sal, and Jess) We ended up walking away with 6 works of art and a bunch of free ones that they passed out pictured above!

The shops on board offered some free champagne and model ships. We only got the free champagne though :(

Since we had back to back cruises in different rooms, we had to leave our stuff for them to transport to the next room. As you can see, we did not fit back in our original suitcases. That was thanks to our stockpile of wine and champagne pictured below.

David (Kaylee's Dad) got called up on stage to partake in a comedy show bit. He killed it! We went to the comedy shows almost every night. Comedians came on and off the ship to perform.

Before one of our last stops in Norway, the power went out on the cruise ship in the middle of the night. The boat was eerily quiet and had only the emergency lights on. The power was out for around 20 minutes before everything slowly started powering back on. Thankfully the water was not choppy and we made it out alive!

Above is a picture of our whole group along with our waiting staff! The waiter closest to us is Heath. We had him on our first cruise and requested him on out second because of how great he did!
