Ålesund was a very cute little town. The day started gloomy and rainy, but turned sunny in the afternoon. Pictured above is a view from the "fjord thing" that the boys ended up climbing twice. It offered spectacular views of the city if you can bear the 418 steps to the top!




Above is a statue of Rollon. He is a Viking that founded Normandy in 911.


This statue commemorated the German Kaiser Wilhelm. He helped fund the rebuild of the city after a terrible fire. That is why a lot of the buildings have a German style to them.








Had to stop at a National Liquor Store for some "classy" wine. Anything over 5% alcohol content had to be bought at these locations.



We quickly got back into pretty fjords on our way out of the port!
