Croatia - Split

Croatia - Split

October 4, 2024

Steps: 27,368

Our final day on the cruise was in Split, Croatia. We spent the day exploring the city of Split and the Klis Fortress located about 20 minutes away. This is another location where Game of Thrones was filmed.

We had been sailing in rain the night before, but were pleased to have woken up to beautiful weather at the port!

The old town of Split had many neat buildings and architectural features. For some reason, I was really drawn to arches this day as you will see throughout the post.

After exploring the old town, we jumped in an Uber to Klis Fortress. Our Uber driver was a stereotypical Croatian. He was very friendly to talk to, but called everybody a bastard. No pronouns in Croatia, only bastards.

The city below Klis Fortress was also very pretty!

Kaylee was convicted for stealing all my coffee while on the ship.

At Klis Fortress, we got a free entrance/tour of the local olive museum. It was a beautiful setting where we learned about all the different products they grow/sell. Lavender, olive oil, jam, honey, and many other goods!

The garden of the olive museum had an assortment of different plants. From flowers, to peppers, it seemed to have it all!

After our time in the olive museum, we took an Uber to a park near the cruise port (or so we thought). We ended up getting a little bit of extra walking / climbing in!

We had to stop by the yacht convention at the port to see if we could find any of the ships from our show "Below Deck"!

The port itself was lined with restaurants and was a very pretty setting!
