At this point Kaylee and I have gone on several adventures together. So far, none of them have compared to the pregnancy and birth of our first child Amelia. 

Timeline of Birth:

8/16/2025

6:30 AM: Kaylee and I woke up for another normal day and went for a walk.

11:00 AM: We drove up to Fountain Hills to help Grandma Jean help move furniture and take pictures of her condo she was putting up for sale. (After a run to DJ's Bagels of course)

1:00 PM: We started driving home and Kaylee was frustrated thinking she was getting fake contractions. 

4:40 PM: The "fake contractions" began becoming more frequent and prominent.

5:00 PM: Kaylee began tracking contractions and they were 4-5 minutes apart. We then start scrambling to get the house in shape in case we needed to go to the hospital.

7:20 PM: We finally got the house in order and the car packed and started heading to the hospital.

9:00 PM: After arriving to the hospital, Kaylee spent a little over an hour in TRIAGE where they determined she was 5 cm dilated and 100% effaced so we were moved to the delivery room!

10:00 PM: Kaylee received the epidural and started relaxing. I took my place on the couch.

8/17/2025

1:30 AM: Kaylee's water broke after being on Pitocin for around 1.5 hours.

3:00 AM: Kaylee calls in the nurse to up the dosage on the epidural, but after investigating they determined it was time to push as the baby was 10cm dilated. 

3:20 AM: The nurse begins having Kaylee push!

3:51 AM: Amelia was born!

 

Kaylee's "Golden Hour" with Amelia after I cut the cord. This was soon ended from Amelia wanting to feed and us needing a nurse's assistance to get her to latch. She latched right away. (for now)

My first time holding Amelia while Kaylee relaxed a little.

Baby Amelia finally made it home!
