Nestled in the middle of Italy and less than 2 hours from our cruise port, San Marino was a beautiful city/country to visit! 

We were able to spot San Marino from around 15 miles away due to it being the first significant elevation change in the area since we left the Dolomites. 

We made it into town just in time for the sunset! This view was right outside our hotel. (Next to where we parked)

We spent some time walking around the town and searching for food. We got some amazing pizza and crepes!

The fortress lights started to come on and added a very neat effect to the buildings. 

The sunset mixed with rain clouds in the distance created a beautiful sky!

Little did I know that this would be the beginning of our many fortress walls climbed.

There were 3 main towers within the upper fortress. Pictured above is the third and furthest one from town. (Yes, I did drag Kaylee all the way over there to check it out)

Our hotel had some pretty fall colors going outside of it! This was definitely one of the nicest hotels we stayed in during the trip and the cost of the hotel / food in the area was amazing.
