Montenegro - Kotor
September 26, 2024
Steps: 18,139
Kotor was our first stop on the cruise and also the first time we have been to Montenegro!
The views from the ship were amazing! Sailing into Kotor provided some of the best views.
Cats were apparently a huge part of the city. Several shops were dedicated to "Cats of Kotor" merchandise. Though common in the Mediterranean, this spot seemed to cater to them more than other ports we were in. They had a whole garden of cats / cat food.
The theme of fortress walls continues here. I felt compelled to climb this, but Kaylee was not prepared. We made a decision to meet back up in town once I finished my hike.
This was supposed to be our coldest day, but ended up feeling like the hottest as I decided to wear my long sleeve shirt on a hike directly in the sun. My goal was to get up and down as fast as I could, so I wouldn't be late to our meetup.
Look who decided to show up! Turns out, she got FOMO the minute I started going up without her. She soon followed, but unfortunately since I was in the mindset of moving quick, was unable to find her until my descent. (I went back up to the top with her still) (Kaylee would also like to note that Conner had no phone service on this trip and was worried about splitting up and his ability to navigate to the meetup spot without any maps)
More Kitties of Kotor!
You can see the fortress walls stretching up the mountain above. That is where we were hiking earlier.
The town itself had some fun shops and restaurants but was not very big. I am definitely glad that we did the hike though!
